VIZARD
We all have it, a vizard
Sheilding our true self
Denying who we are
A fake smile ensuing in pain
We all have faces we don't show
Attributes we deny
Other faces we envy
Life under pretense
Taking another's persona
Imbibing into one's
Works for a while
Then the cracks come
Our true selves revealed
Like a ghost in a shell
It exposes eventually
Faces we hide
Feelings and guilts we deny
Ego stripped away,humilated feelings left
Picking up the piece
A true self is everything.
POWER
A beauty with pride
Desire of old and young
A worldly enchantress
Destruction and fame kneel at her feet
With hope of wooing her
Ambitions become an obsession
Enemies made at all ends.
With it comes respect
Envy follows up
Dragging pride along for the walk
You feel you have it all
Till she switches allegiance
With power comes responsibility
With responsibility comes a burden
A bargain at each end
Paranoia creeps in eventually
Hunger for more
Greed the thoughts of the mind
Conscience killed before waking up.
Alas all is vain
Power stays
Soul goes...
